Oh Kaitlyn, those wingfeather books! I binged the last 2 1/2 after we returned from our Christmas trip. I had read 1 and half of 2 out loud, but this time we used audible to listen to them, and I was hooked.

I wept through 3 and 4. Beautiful indeed.

My word, sanctification, is already presenting itself in verse of the day posts and in pruning opportunities. But God is also using them so quickly to bear fruit in me and those around me! It's going to be a year of true beauty that He is revealing.

May you be blessed.

And yes to the Chosen. :)

My Word for 2022 was Expectancy (not expectations). My Word for 2023 is Present (but still Eternity-minded).

I remember last year I overanalyzed and found the “perfect” words for 2022 (ironically I can’t remember them). In January, God spoke to my heart that my word was Hope. At first I hesitated since I had Hope as my word of the year a few years ago, but I slowly saw throughout the year how God was faithful, bringing me hope in the midst of grief, anxiety, and depression. This year, I wasn’t searching for a word of the year yet, but God revealed it to me during morning devotions. I felt drawn to Focus. I get so easily overwhelmed and anxious as I focus on the worries of the world. But when I focus on Jesus, all my worries seem to melt away in the presence of His love.

Mine find me, too. They suddenly show up absolutely everywhere, like a flashing neon sign that can't be ignored even if I don't yet know why/what they mean. Figures that the 'perfect' one can't be remembered, but He taught you hope. ;)

My word for this year is Rooted. Thought it was gonna be from Ephesians, but was led to Colossians 2:6-7 instead. I can’t remember if I had one last year? (Must not have - lol). But 2021 was Lean. Thankful that leaning tree remembered her roots! ;)

The leaning tree remembered her roots... yes and amen. That's beautiful. May this be a year of planting and growing deep.

This year I’m using the phrase “progress not perfection” and I hope it sinks in. It’s so hard not to buy into that instant change or perform or product culture. Nothing is instant. Even the microwave takes some seconds or minutes. ❤️
