I love your booklist. We have a lot of the same choices. I read a lot of Christian books and the Bible every year - The Bible Recap if you are familiar. Beth Moore is next on my list. I’d be interested in subscribing. Just need a nudge in the right direction. I’m from Savannah. Are you from the South as well?
I just finished The Bible Recap this past week! My first book of 2024, actually! It definitely took me more than a year. ;) We'd love to have you over in All The Things, and if there are any questions I can answer, please don't hesitate to ask. The next few things going to paid subscribers are:
books you don't want to miss releasing January-April
a new exclusive print and lock screen
a gift in the mail
a heads up on the book we'll be reading together next month prior to the Author Chat
Love the booklist! Thanks for sharing! Beth’s memoir is on my TBR list. Last year I enjoyed Help for the hungry soul by Kristen Wetherell, Welcome by Jen Oshman and The Rose and the Thistle by Laura Frantz
None are in any particular order, but all of them either made me laugh, cry, or changed my convictions, sometimes all in the same book, particularly in All My Knotted Up Life.
We have a bunch of books in common!! I've read 3/5 of the fiction and 5/5 of the nonfiction, so I'm gonna have to go add those missing two to my TBR list! Thank you for sharing them.
It's one I'll definitely re-read, likely next year just to give a little space between. Did you love it as well? (Forgive, on your book list, is on my TBR for this year. Thanks for the prompt to pick it up sooner than later!)
I loved The Secret Keeper of Jaipur by Alka Joshi so much that I promptly read the other two books in the series, The Henna Artist and The Perfumist of Paris! I was intrigued by the setting, characters, and culture, especially since my new daughter-in-law is of Indian heritage (both of her parents are from India)
In 2022 I lost my job, my relationship, and my best friend. I'm still grieving. In 2023 I learned so much about grief and the grieving process. Gina Moffet's "Moving On Doesn't Mean Letting Go" is a must read for anyone struggling with grief. I also read and recommend, "I Don't Know Who I Am Anymore" by Carole Holiday and "Healthy Feelings, Thriving Faith," by the Gaultiere"s.
Angela, I'm so sorry. That is just--a lot. So much. I appreciate these book suggestions, especially hearing that they've been so helpful to you. Thank you for sharing them, I'm going to look up each one.
Isn't it?! Amanda joined us for the June Author Chat for paid subscribers and trying to NOT be a fangirl of the story was a challenge. It's just so good! Have you read any others from Amanda?
Yes please to Beth Moore, Tara Westover, Kristin Du Mez.
And always to riveting historical fiction ...

Of course! I got lots of great ideas from your book lists too! 📚
The Night is Normal by Dr Alicia Britt Chole, amazing book!
- I'm Such a Messterpiece - Andrea M Nyberg
- Struggle - Grace Marshall
- The Power of Vulnerability - Brene Brown
- Even This - Emily Belle Freeman
That first title! Got my attention.
It was my favorite of the year.
Your reference to Sharon Garlough Brown’s work makes me want to reread the whole series!
I narrowed my reading year down to a few favorites: https://michelemorin.net/2023/12/31/favorite-books-2023-the-best-and-brightest-from-my-reading-year/

Forgive was a masterful treatment of a tricky topic. Eye-opening!

That's the best, isn't it?! Loving a book and then discovering that there are more in the series?!

No not yet but I will do when I'm next on holiday. I've passed it onto my daughter to read xx
I can’t believe you live in Savannah too!
It's showing me several comments on this post where you're talking about Savannah... is there something in the post that makes you think I live there?
So I assume it’s worth upgrading?
Kaitlyn, you won’t believe this! I LIVE IN SAVANNAH!
