One of the best things about 2016 I wouldn't realize the greatness of for years. On May 3, 2016 I started documenting the greeting cards I sent to others - at that point by recipient name (and possible included coloring page) only. I had no idea that would become what it has - a God-given greeting card writing ministry. As we sweep around to almost 10 years of writing notes (something I never thought/expected to happen), I've written over 9,000 cards. It is not about numbers, but God has been so good at connecting the right words to the right person, right as they needed them. I'm grateful for this way to love others.

NINE THOUSAND?!? Holy moly. That is incredible. I created and helped run a card-sending/letter-writing group years ago and we sent several hundred, but surely not 9,000. What prompted you to get started?!

Actually, a card I had received from someone I didn't know very well. I had a pair of seizures on one day in October 2015 - the only ones ever in my life. A result of that was the inability to drive for 6 months (due to the uncertainty of the cause of the seizures and the fear they may continue). My parents did amazing at getting me to almost all the regular things I did, but weren't able to get me to my Bible Study group. One of those ladies sent me a card a few months later. It made such a positive impact on me. So I decided I could try writing notes, too. As I said, I never imagined it would become THIS, but I'm so grateful to be able to love in this way.

I think your fireplace and mantle are beautiful.....and I love all the many different styles, colors, and shapes of the trees you collect and display. I'm glad I'm not the only person who is not shy about leaving 'winter' decorations up after the holidays. As far as tattoos go.... I don't have any but have told my kids if I ever got one it would be Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." It's my mantra!!!

This is my first winter storm situation since moving back to Alabama and I had forgotten how people panic here!

My favorite part of 2016 was spending the summer on staff with a missions organization in the Dominican Republic. It completely shifted the trajectory of my life!

If you do a lot of freezing, have you ever looked at soup cubes? Mine are from Amazon and a game changer!
