After eight years of putting together new release book lists throughout the year (January-April, May-August, and then September-December), I included a note at the bottom of “27 5-Star Reads from 2024” sharing that I would likely pause the lists for 2025 (and why).

I already had two dozen Spring releases bookmarked when I sent that note—I mean, of course I did, me, the girl with a dozen 2026 titles currently saved on her computer.

I am who I am, and I am a girl who really loves books and reading and also the thrill of the hunt—be it a thrift store or discovering an upcoming release (though, to be clear, I never mention a book/share the cover anywhere until the author does so… big no to stealing someone’s news).

(By “really loves books and reading” I mean that it’s July 10th and this is my 2025 Goodreads challenge. It’s been a w i l d year and focusing on the written word? Well, that has been the challenge. If you’ve been following along with the All The Things Instagram account, you know free time has been nearly nonexistent. But audiobooks? They’ve been the ticket. Thank goodness for the Libby app.)

I don’t know if the usual list is coming back next year, for the aforementioned reasons, but I hear you. 💛 You (kindly) miss the lists and book recs/more details on what I’m reading. I’ve sprinkled a handful of titles into Thursday Things + the All The Things IG account, but today I’m sending a book round-up your way—with a twist.

These aren’t upcoming releases, but they are brand new releases from the first half of 2025.
